DMVoices NCLR Youth Conference

On Saturday December 12, 2009, Gandhi Brigade attended and participated in the LAYC youth Conference DMV Voices. LAYC staff and youth organized the conference to raise awareness about issues happening around us in our communities. Gandhi Brigade was asked to facilitate an hour-long media and social justice workshop. We were a little worried about whether we could give a good media workshop in such a short time, but everything worked out and the workshop was a success. We accomplished our goal of teaching the young people how to use flip video to send a positive message to their communities and change the negative perceptions the media has about young people.
