Meeting in support of Youth Space

A Day of Service at Bloombars

On Monday January 18th, 2010, the Gandhi Brigade collaborated with BloomBars, a non-profit organization located in Washington, DC that uses the arts as a means to affect their community. As a part of our Day of Service, several Gandhi Brigade youth learned about the significance of utilizing the arts in advocacy and community change.
YME Event
The Youth Media Explosion event, pushed to the brink of postponement by a winter snowfall, was still held to a warm reception by everyone involved. A large number of people braved the cold snowfall to take part in the viewing all of the youth's hard work from the previous months.

So this was meant to go up yesterday, but due to some pretty terrible (nee lame) technical difficulties, I can finally bring you this posting. It's been a great time so far, and with yesterday, we went all over the place. I don't want to dwell on it too long but it included getting another interview done well, trying out some amazing food (The horchata was amazing), getting some new clothes for myself and checking out an amazing lookout point called "The Devil's Gate"
MxD Unity - Feb. 2, 2009
On February 2nd, Mixed Unity gathered for another meeting at Gandhi Brigade.
Mixed Unity - Jan 6.
This Mixed Unity meeting occurred on January 6, 2008. The youth gathered at 6:30 PM. The meeting allowed the youth to showcase new ideas, assign new tasks and continue laying out more details for the upcoming concert.
Mixed Unity - Dec. 18th
On December 11th, 2008, Mixed Unity re-united to continue their initiative to put a halt to the violence in the community. The youth agreed to hold the concert on March 7th.

In response to recent violence, 30 youths, representing numerous organizations in the Silver Spring area gathered recently to begin an initiative to put an end to the ongoing violence in the area.
